I don't like to feel sad, and create a life where I find much more joy than sadness.
Yet, life can sometimes throw sadness our way in the most unexpected moments. Just the other day, I was in the car with my husband and two children when a large dog ran right in front of us. There was nothing we could do to stop or swerve.
Although we helped the owner put the dog in her car to go to the emergency vet, there wasn't much else we could do. Instead of going on our bike ride as planned, we went home and cuddled on the couch.
Later that afternoon we heard from the owner that the dog had died.
So what is the benefit of this sadness?
